The left column shows a diagram of partial-thickness debridement (PTD), representative of the group in which tangential excision was performed to preserve the dermis of the hand as much as possible. After the tangential excision, a medium split-thickness skin graft (STSG) was applied to compensate for the loss of the dermis. The right column shows a diagram of full-thickness debridement (FTD), representative of the FTD group in which that procedure was performed.
