During 30th November to 4th December, the 19th Congress of the International Society for Burns Injuries was held in New Delhi, India. This international grand meeting for burn researchers attracts nearly 600 delegates from all over the world. And this time more than 70 delegates from China attend the meeting and totally 53 presentations were given during the 5 days meeting.
As a media partner of the meeting, Burns & Trauma set a booth to promote the journal and the Institute of Burn Research, gained a lot of attention from delegates and boosted the global visibility of the journal and institute.
On December 3rd, Burns & Trauma held an editorial board meeting with 13 editorial board members attended. Editor-in-Chief Prof. Wu hosted the meeting and made a brief report of the journal progress. All participates made a heated discussion on the journal development and the special issue topics. And several future direction and focus were finally set.
Attending such international conference will surely benefit the journal development on international reputation and visibility, also is a valuable opportunity to introduce the Chinese burn research progress to the world.
Next ISBI congress will be held in Birmingham, UK in 2020. And it was announced that the 21st ISBI congress will be held in Guangzhou, China in 2022, which will be the first time for China to hold the congress since the organization was founded in 1962.
